July Cosplay Spotlight
Positively Snarky Puppy!!
We're spotlighting talent in the cosplay community!
Every month, The Variant showcases different cosplayers who display talent, creativity, and a positive voice for the cosplay community!
My name is Mary, but you can call me Snarky Puppy Cosplay.
During the week, I'm just your friendly neighborhood dog groomer; but by Con I am a fun-loving goofball spreading as many smiles as I can ^-^
I fell in love with cosplay when a classmate showed me a mini-anime meetup my senior year of high school. It was the start of a beautiful friendship with her & the burns from a hot glue gun! I have met so many sweet & loving people through cosplay, some of which I consider my second family. They always support me & offer the best advice!
Cosplay has been a healing creative outlet for me. It is a way to dress up and become some of my favorite heroes and the characters I look up to. It enables me to free myself of my anxiety & depression. I strive to add fun to every cosplay I make by creating a positive vibe inside & out.
Basically to sum up my cosplay essence, I am a positive bubbly goofball who loves making friends & spreading joy to everyone I meet. Please don't be shy when you see me, I'd love to meet you as well!!! <3 <3 <3
This month we have the fun and ultra-positive stylings of Snarky Puppy Cosplay! Whenever I see her at a convention this girl just exudes positivity!!
Her "Carousel Horse" cosplay is based on an illustration by the Japanese artist Sakizou which we shot at Animazement in Raleigh, NC.
"Elastigirl" was kind of a surprise cosplay she popped up with at HeroesCon in Charlotte, NC and with the premiere of Incredibles 2 last week it was pretty much perfection!
Or fearless leader RJ shot both of these sets and we have a bunch that were also taken by our EVER-AMAZING Tomisina Lynn that will be featured on our social media!!!
