September Cosplay Spotlight
A Faye to Die For
We're spotlighting talent in the cosplay community! Every month, The Variant will showcase a different cosplayer displaying talent, creativity, and a positive voice for the community!
For September we did a shoot we had been wanting to do for the better part of a year. Miss Faye's Cosplay Closet has always been a huge supporter of The Variant and a great friend. The stars were never aligned for us to get this spotlight done in the past but with new staff photographer Kimberly Smith from Midday Enchantments on board we took a little road trip to the beach to make it happen!
Miss Faye's Cosplay Closet is a cosplayer and model born and raised in West Virginia on video games, comics, manga, and anime. She graduated modeling/acting school in 2007 immediately after high school and worked with a modeling agency from 2007 to 2008. After she left West Virginia to move to North Carolina she almost immediately fell in love with cosplay. She started out just buying and doing minor alterations to her costumes or piecing them together from thrift stores. Since then she’s taught she's herself how to sew and work with worbla to advance her craft. This family oriented and extremely friendly, once-shy anime enthusiast turned outgoing cosplay goober is guaranteed to make you smile.
