We’re spotlighting talent in the cosplay community!

Every month, The Variant showcases cosplayers who display talent, creativity, and a positive voice within the cosplay community.

Mikki Marvel is an all-around artist and content creator. She is a model,

photographer, actress, comedian, dancer, singer, event organizer, and seamstress.

Mikki fell in love with cosplay in 2010 and has been addicted to it ever since.

She served as a stitcher for the costuming department at UNC-Charlotte for

two years where she also went to business school.

Mikki loves costuming as an art form, and she still gets excited when she

sees a costume she made on herself or on someone else for the first

time. Nowadays, she especially loves cosplay that doesn’t take itself too

seriously. Mikki also frequents the comic-con scene where she teaches

costuming workshops and helps conventions however she can.

She currently serves with convention regulars like the Southern Belle

Ghostbusters and Pineapple-Shaped Lamps.

Mikki is also a community-focused variety streamer on Twitch. She’s the lead

organizer of the Raleigh Community Meet-Up, Powered by Twitch, a local

networking group for streamers and streaming enthusiasts.

When she isn’t gaming or cosplaying, Mikki can be found watching sci-fi or

supporting arts in the Triangle. She loves helping artists promote and

monetize their art, and works with more than 50 events throughout the

North Carolina Triangle area supporting and promoting local creatives.

At The Variant we always strive to create exactly the vision of the Cosplay

Spotlight that our Spotlight wants. We absolutely LOVE when our

Cosplay Spotlights put themselves completely into their month, take

themselves out of their own element and also take us out of ours.

This month Mikki Marvel took us completely out of our element with her

Slimer cosplay… and I gotta say this ended up being one of the funniest and

funnest shoots we’ve done. Paired with her gorgeous Hannah Alexander

style Squirtle, Mikki definitely put all of herself out there on a plate and

made the vision of what she wanted come to life!
