This month (and by the skin of our teeth) we’d like to welcome

LuminaLuxe back to the Cosplay Spotlight!!

If you remember, Lumi was our May 2023 Spotlight

and brought us some great cosplays.

Here’s a little bit about her…

Hi there! I’m LuminaLuxe / Lumi. I’ve been cosplaying for a little over 10 years now, and started

out with cosplays from video games that I love. I slowly branched out to movies and general

media that I enjoy, and now enjoycosplaying whatever strikes my fancy!

I love characters with fun hair, big ballgowns, or fun accessories.

Character work is my main job, so I find cosplay to be a fun outlet to do whatever else I

really enjoy. It can get monotonous always playing the same characters, and cosplay allows

me to go outside those boundaries and enjoy costuming just for myself!

For me, cosplay is about expression without limitation or expectation. I can go as fancy or as simple as I’d like, dedicate 100 hours to crafting or just purchase a cosplay, and cosplay characters I know inside out or ones I know nothing about. It’s the freedom to do it however I’d like that makes it so enjoyable to me! I hope cosplay provides that same freeing feeling for you as well. ❤

For September Lumi brought us her Ms. Hina from Genshin Impact and Tinkerbell from

Disney’s Peter Pan. We also have a set of her Glinda the Good Witch, which

Tomisina Lynn shot as part of a duo shoot from Wicked so expect to also see some

shots of @AoKostumes as Elphaba along side her this month. Huge shout-out to

Strawbridge Studios, and the great folks at Historic Oakwood Cemetary in Raleigh for

letting us do studio and location shoots!
