We're spotlighting talent in the cosplay community! Every month, The Variant will showcase a different cosplayer displaying talent, creativity, and a positive voice for the community!
This month we welcome back Kimberly Smith with Midday Enchantments Photography! We love working with Kim and her photos always leave us wanting more! This month she brought us not one but TWO amazing cosplayers for a special Double Feature Cosplay Spotlight!!
Back in May, Kim contacted me and told me she had some ideas for some shoots she wanted to do at Animazement. She told me about some great cosplayers she knew and that she wanted to use them for a spotlight and the rest as they say is history!
Cosplay Cassie started cosplaying in 2009 after her grandmother taught her how to sew. She helped her make her first costume, which was Kai from Heavenly Sword. Cosplay has pushed her as a person to be more social and she loves all the wonderful people she has met because of it. She uses her cosplay for charity purposes as well and loves bringing a smile to the face of someone who is suffering and might need it. To Cassie, cosplay is all about having fun, being someone else for a bit, meeting new people, helping those in need and reveling in creativity!
Jazzmin Jolly has been a cosplayer and model for the past 6 years. She grew up in Sumter, South Carolina, but currently lives in Philadelphia, PA. She has a distinct love for Disney movies and some of her favorite things are cake, orange juice, reading and happiness!
As we mentioned both photo sets were shot on-location at Animazement this year. Cosplay Cassie is starring as Ann Takamaki from Persona 5.
Jazzmin Jolly is using her uniquely limber talents to give Chun Li from the Street Fighter franchise some extra added realism!
Don't just take our word for it, GO CHECK OUT THE PICS!!!
