We’re spotlighting talent in the cosplay community!

Every month, The Variant showcases cosplayers who display talent, creativity, and a positive voice within the cosplay community.

Two years ago, right before the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, we created

an unprecedented feature showcasing 29 different cosplayers for the 29 days of

February 2020. While this might not seem like any kind of an amazing feat,

please understand that The Variant doesn’t just grab screen

captures or pictures off of other websites.

We create ALL our own content.

Each “Cosplay Spotlight’s” photo shoot was a Variant exclusive created

by our team of photographers and artists specifically for that feature. The

response we got from both the cosplay and black communities was more

than incredible. By February 2021, the pandemic was in full swing and there

was just no way we could have safely accomplished what we did in 2020, but this year…

Oops, we did it again.

The Variant and our myriad of amazing cosplayers, photographers and

contributors would like to welcome you all to our February 2022 feature,

28 Days of Black Cosplay Spotlights!!!!

For the entire month of February we will be celebrating Black History and

Black Cosplay Month by showcasing 28+ different cosplayers featuring

new content of everyone, each day of the month. Some of the cosplayers

and photographers you’ve seen on our website before but there’s also a

bunch of brand new talent that has joined the fun.

We also have a special EXCLUSIVE look at the upcoming comic series

by the AMAZING Afua Richardson. Her magnum opus, Aquarius: The Book of Mer

and the photo shoot she put together for it is just hand down STUNNING!!

We’ve also got a few surprises up our sleeves (as we do) so stay tuned to

The Variant all month long and see what we’ve put together!
